Music for Hope

About the project

The Music For Hope initiative is a project which has just started in collaboration with the Pattaya Street Kids Charity in Thailand, to make aware the world about their existence, about what we can do to improve in an immediate way the lives of poor, homeless children, living in the poorest imaginable conditions, which keep them suffering in a constant survival situation.

The project will start with a music event, which will take place at Hootananny, in Brixton, London on the 7th June 2008. Various bands will perform, people are simply invited to come and enjoy the evening with us.

To enlarge the existing Day Care Early Learning Centre in KoPai, one of the largest slum in Pattaya, we need to raise £2,500. Expanding this centre means that more children can have access to its facilities (food and water will also be provided) and that we could develop a better education system, which will provide them with skills they need to create a better future outside the slum for themselves and their families They will be able to find a proper job and will have the knowledge and capabilities to choose their life and not just try to survive as they are doing now.

The Charity is a small organisation and, at the moment, the resources are limited to develop what it is really needed. This is the reason why the support of every individual, taking part in this initiative, is important.

After the event, I will personally bring the money to the slum in Thailand, every single raised penny will be used on the project, I will document everything and, on my return, I will update the webpage with pictures and videos, so that you will be able to see what you could create with your support!

The Music For Hope event represents the faces, the voices, the requests of all those kids, who live far away from our reality, who do not even know how the world is outside their environment, but if they could, they would scream and ask for our help. The aim of this event is to attract London community’s attention to their existence, letting them know that they can make a huge difference in their life.

The community here in London, through this initiative, could establish a relationship with the Pattaya Street Kids Charity and we could organise every year this event. Every person should take part in it, not simply giving their contribution, but getting involved and be interested in bringing new developments and improvements in these kids life, letting them know that they are not alone, even if we are not there physically, we support them.

This cooperation is aimed not only to improve the Charity activity in Thailand, but it will also be a way to interact with the various people living in our community in London. We can collaborate together and bring to life our suggestions or share our ideas to make a difference in the Thai slum community!

We can achieve any goals, if we are together and believe in it. Take part in this project and let’s make these kids know that we care. One of the greatest satisfactions you could have in your life is to give a new future to another person…and yes, it is that simple!
